bakinggurl May 2, 2012 at 10:17 pm

and by your screen name i thought you were a little 10 year old!
Who the heck would have a name like that?

CottonCandySmiles2 May 2, 2012 at 10:20 pm

why do you get bothered by my opinion? if I don’t like someone you do, is not like I’m asking you to stop licking his butt. Grow up!

I’ve made these a bunch of times now and I can’t get the right shape, they’re always lumpy… How do you get them to be smooth and round? :)

Wow you are all about the caps, lol. And I didn’t correct you, let alone everyone; I offered you my advice on how to make these without almond flour since u said u were allergic… Granted, I assumed u were an actual baker or a pastry chef because of your screen name. Now I know to check a person’s channel before answering a question, hopefully I won’t get flamed by anymore salty teenagers for offering professional advice.

clearly not the answer you wanted to hear, but sadly there is no way to make a decent macaroon without almond meal. Almonds have just the right fat to fiber ratio to create the firm outside and chewey center you want. i wasn’t trying to be mean, i really do feel bad that you can’t have them cause they are amazing. If you don’t mind some hard work you could try other nut meals like brazil nuts or maybe pecans? i just don’t know how that would work. Good luck to you, and sorry I upset u.

teenaho May 3, 2012 at 2:12 am

omg nutella :9

bakinggurl May 3, 2012 at 2:45 am

roninshamwow1 May 3, 2012 at 4:20 am

Peanut flavored one :)

then you will make a plain dry cookie. the purpose is that the almond meal makes a chewy paste inside of the crispy outer layer almost like a filling. you can’t make a macaroon without it. : (

skycub99 May 3, 2012 at 5:07 am

then you will never know the bliss of a real macaroon, so sad… : P

skycub99 May 3, 2012 at 6:07 am

hmm, well either they were really poorly made with bad ingrediants, or you just dont like the almond flavor. I work in a french style bakery and i have NEVER met someone who didnt fall in love with these as soon as they try one.

skycub99 May 3, 2012 at 7:02 am

aww… you should they are so delicious, and very impressive to others.

SugarSkullFairy May 3, 2012 at 7:14 am

must have been really nasty ones. The good ones are like 2 bucks a piece.

RubenDelight May 3, 2012 at 7:36 am

I don’t get it, everyone praises these macaroon things left and right. I got some as a present for holding a presentation somewhere and for one thing they smelled utterly disgusting, and after hesitantly taking a bite I nearly puked the bloody thing out.
